Seating Chart Troubles!!
So as most of you know I am in the midst of planning my engagement party and it has been smooth sailing up until ... NOW! 31 days left and I am starting to feel the immense stress of planning such a big event.
With all of the helpful tools online you would think that a seating chart would be a snap... wrong... very very wrong. Figuring out where to place relatives, friends, coworkers, people you have never met before.. it can be a hair pulling experience.
The venue provided us with a detailed floor plan which helped us a great deal. Here is a quick description of how we finalized our seating chart.
First we made a list of all the guests that were invited and then we divided the list into the following categories: friends, close relatives, coworkers, and distant relatives. Next we decided which tables would be best for each category. For example, table number four would be best for us, our parents, and grandparents where as the table nearest to the exit and closest to the speakers would be best for our friends. We made a card for each table and started assigning guests to each card until we reached the maximum capacity per table. Once everyone RSVPs we will get a better idea of where to seat everyone but I am thrilled to report that after an hour we finalized the seating chart!
